Looking for something a little different to do this weekend or next?
Ohio Open Doors runs September 10–20, and there are some great history stops right here in Licking County and nearby.
📍 Saturday, Sept. 12 — Flint Ridge
Head to Flint Ridge for a free, family-friendly open house from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Learn about the ancient flint quarries, see hands-on activities, and take a guided tour.
📍 Tuesday, Sept. 15 — Bryn Du Mansion, Granville
Go Behind the Velvet Rope from 3–7 p.m. and explore parts of Bryn Du Mansion that aren't normally open to the public. The tours are free.
📍 Friday, Sept. 18 — Octagon Earthworks, Newark
Join archaeologist Brad Lepper for a free guided tour of the Octagon Earthworks at 2 p.m.
📍 Saturday, Sept. 19 — Newark Earthworks
There are several ways to explore the Newark Earthworks, including a 9 a.m. free walking tour of the lost portions of the earthworks and a guided tour of the Great Circle with Dr. Brad Lepper.
And that's just a sample -- There are 300 Ohio Open Doors events across all 88 Ohio counties during the 10-day celebration.
Sometimes you don't have to go far to find something pretty amazing. ❤️
