Yesterday, January 11, 2024, our organization honored Fire Chief, Corey Smedley and President, Patrick Evans for their contributions to the fire department, community and our organization. Chief Smedley is retiring from the City of Alexandria Fire Department and Patrick Evans is stepping down from his leadership role as President of BFSPA. We thank them both for their major contributions over the years and unwavering support.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired BFSPA member Thurston McClain (AFD Captain). Thurston was an essential part of BFSPA and influential to the City of Alexandria. Though his presence on earth will be missed, his legacy and work will be carried on through our organization.

The BFSPA is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Lieutenant Keturah Wyatt. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with the Wyatt family and the Baltimore City Fire Department during this difficult time.

It's with great sadness to share the passing of Lt. Keturah Wyatt - an active member. We will continue to pray for her family during this difficult time.
