Military connected high school students, here’s a pretty cool opportunity!
The Coding School Foundations of Quantum Computing course is FREE this fall for students from military-connected families, thanks to DoW STEM funding.
Students will get live, virtual instruction, learn from experts, and earn transcript credit while exploring one of the fastest-growing areas of technology. And there are no prerequisites.

Today, MHA Founder Natalie Minor Mack represented Military Homeschoolers Association at the Fort Belvoir Patriot Day Observance, hosted by COL Samuel Allen, Garrison Commander.
The guest speaker was CPT Nia Crump, commander of the 911th Technical Rescue Engineer Company at Fort Belvoir. On September 11, 2001, the company responded to the Pentagon after Flight 77 crashed into the western portion of the building.🇺🇸

The Military Homeschoolers Association pauses to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 people whose lives were taken on September 11, 2001.
We remember the individuals who went to work, boarded flights, responded to calls for help, or began an ordinary morning that would forever change their families—and our nation.
For the military community, the impact of that day continued far beyond September 11. Service members deployed, families endured long separations, and military children grew up amid repeated moves, uncertainty, and the realities of a nation at war. Many military families continue to carry the sacrifices of the years that followed.
Today, we honor those who were lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members and families who answered the call in the aftermath.
May we remember their names, their lives, and the loved ones who still carry their absence.
We will never forget.

Heading to a game this fall? You’ve got a field trip built in.
For younger kids, keep it simple: count points, keep track of time, look for patterns in scoring, talk about how the players move, or pick a favorite player and watch what they do throughout the game.
Older kids can dig a little deeper. How does the scoreboard work? What strategy is the team using? Look into the history of the sport, how the rules have changed, or how things like physics, speed, angles, and reaction time affect the game.

Fall sports can make the homeschool schedule feel a little… full.

This is a great time to simplify where you can. Keep the must-do lessons, use travel time for reading or audiobooks, and take advantage of those slower days to catch up. Sports are part of the season, too. They teach teamwork, commitment, perseverance, and plenty of lessons that don't come from a textbook.

A new homeschool week doesn’t have to mean spending your entire Sunday planning it. Sometimes a quick reset is enough: check the calendar, gather what you need, take a look at what’s coming up, and call it good. If everything isn’t perfectly organized by Monday morning, that’s okay too. Leave some room for real life and for the days when the things just doesn’t go according to plan.
