Twenty-five years ago, first responders answered the call at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Many did not return. Campbell County Fiscal Court remembers their sacrifice and honors the fire, rescue, and police personnel who serve our community with that same courage.

𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼

Severe weather can develop quickly. Knowing where you will shelter before a tornado or severe wind warning is issued can save valuable time.

The safest place is a basement or small interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building, away from windows and exterior walls.

Depending on your home or building, that could be a:

• Basement
• Interior hallway
• Interior bathroom
• Closet
• Designated storm shelter area

Make sure everyone in your household, including children, knows where to go when severe weather threatens.

As part of National Preparedness Month, take a few minutes to identify your safe place and make sure everyone in your household knows where it is.

At 10:04am, the Northern Kentucky Water District (NKWD) tested the water and the sample came back "Good." The boil water advisory is lifted.

𝗕𝗢𝗜𝗟 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬: 𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞

Pendleton County Water District has issued a boil water advisory for 𝟱𝟮 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮.

The advisory affects customers on:
1. Lake Street
2. Pinoak Street
3. Spruce Street
4. Lake Circle Drive
5. Lakeview Avenue

Water service in the area was shut off at 11:30 a.m. today, Sept. 9, and was restored at 2:15 p.m.

Pendleton County Water District will collect water samples Thursday morning and send them to a laboratory for testing. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Campbell County until 9 p.m. tonight, Sept. 5.

At 8:18 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Independence, moving southeast at 25 mph. The storm may produce wind gusts up to 60 mph, which could damage trees and power lines.

Campbell County communities in the warning include Newport, Highland Heights, Southgate, Alexandria, and Claryville.

For your safety:
• Move indoors and stay in an interior room on the lowest floor.
• Stay away from windows.
• Do not drive through flooded roadways.
• Remain indoors during lightning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northern Campbell County until 6:15 p.m. today, Sept. 4.

The storm may produce wind gusts up to 60 mph, which could damage trees and power lines. Torrential rainfall, large hail and frequent lightning are also possible.

Campbell County communities listed in the warning include Fort Thomas, Newport, Highland Heights, Bellevue, Dayton and Southgate.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆'𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆.

Campbell County Emergency Management will conduct its monthly outdoor warning siren test on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮, 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟮 𝗽.𝗺.

The sirens will sound as part of the scheduled monthly test unless severe weather is present in the area at the time. At this time, no inclement weather is forecast.

Regular testing helps ensure the county's outdoor warning siren system is operating properly and ready to alert residents during emergencies.

No action is needed during the scheduled test.

Please take the heat seriously. Extreme heat can become dangerous quickly, particularly for older adults, young children, people working or exercising outdoors, and anyone without reliable access to air conditioning.

𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁:

• Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

• Spend as much time as possible in air-conditioned locations.

• Limit strenuous outdoor activity, especially during the hottest part of the day.

• Check on older adults, neighbors, family members and others who may be especially vulnerable to the heat.

• Protect pets from the heat and make sure they have plenty of fresh water and shade.

• Never leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
