Facebook Terms of Use/Community Guidelines

Volunteers of America encourages all of our online friends to comment and "post" on our page. We strive to manage a positive online space where our constituents can feel free to express themselves. We understand that some conversations around articles, blog posts, events, videos, organizational initiatives and other content on this page or link

ed to this page can create strong opinions which can lead to debates and passionate responses. For that reason, when comments or posts descend into derogatory remarks, personal attacks, inappropriate content or confusing streams of irrelevant content, we reserve the right to remove comments on our pages and potentially move the conversations offline (either onto email or discussions via phone). We want to see your comments and posts that:

• Are "on topic" and that respond to the content in our posts
• Are responses to comments left by other readers
• Are reasonably brief and to the point
• Have a positive/constructive tone
• Are open to being contradicted by other readers
• Might disagree with the content in the article or post, but never insult the writer of the article or blog post, or other commenters; we’re all “friends,” after all

We would rather not see comments and posts that:

• Are not "on topic" or are not responding to other comments or the content in the article or blog post
• Are excessively longwinded or negative
• Are insulting to the writer, the organization or previous commenters

We will immediately delete, without notice, comments and posts, that:

• Are unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, or contain racially, ethnically or similarly objectionable content
• Are personal attacks, including name-calling or celebrations of another person's misfortune
• Are injurious to the reputations or privacy of Volunteers of America staff, volunteers and clients
• Are false statements or unrelated to Volunteers of America programs and ministry
• Contain advertising or spam
• Are incomprehensible or do not contribute to reasonable dialogue
• Are disruptive, including personal conversations better suited for private messaging
• Violate any of Facebook's Terms of Use and Code of Conduct

Constant or extreme violations of Volunteers of America’s Facebook community rules will cause a commenter to be "defriended," blocking them from making future posts or comments on the page. In cases of extreme abuse, Volunteers of America will report violations to Facebook and permanently ban offenders from the page. We are looking forward to your thoughtful, respectful and constructive dialogue on our page. Thanks for being our friend!

Our shark tank competitors really knew how to “seas” the day! 🦈 Our annual Social Innovation Shark Tank & Celebratory Luncheon had three creative endeavors compete to make their ideas a reality. Congratulations to Volunteers of America North Louisiana's Russell Irby, this year’s winner, and to our runners up -- Charles Hylton of Volunteers of America - Greater New York and Maria Tart-Van Blaricum of Volunteers of America Eastern Washington -- for the friendly competition this afternoon.

We are grateful for the caring professionals and VOA staff who dedicate their talents and time to helping individuals, families, and communities thrive. Cannot wait to see how these projects progress!

This morning, VOA came together in worship and celebration during our Annual Worship Service as we honored the faith that continues to guide our mission and 130-year legacy. Through music and fellowship, we were reminded that VOA is a church without walls, meeting people where they are through meaningful service.

A genuine thank you to VOA Chief Ministry Officer Rev. James Marshall, our inspiring Ministry Team, and the choir for leading us in song this morning. 🌞

What better way to kick off than with Rocky Mountain views and some Colorado history? 🏔️

Last night, VOA gathered at the History Colorado Center in downtown Denver for an unforgettable Opening Reception filled with connection, celebration, and a journey through Colorado’s rich history. From immersive exhibits to meaningful moments with colleagues from across the country, the evening reminded us just how powerful our shared story is.

Every day, VOA helps more than 400 communities nationwide build resilience, and tonight, we celebrated that impact together in the Mile High City. Volunteers of America Colorado
