🎉 That’s a Wrap on Employee Appreciation Week! 🎉

What a week! From good food and plenty of laughs to a little friendly competition, Employee Appreciation Week gave us a chance to celebrate the people who keep AHA moving every single day.

And speaking of moving… our Hot Stepper Challenge definitely brought out the competitive side! 👟🔥 Teams walked, strategized, talked a little trash 😂 and kept those steps coming all week long. More importantly, it was great seeing everyone have fun, encourage one another, and enjoy some friendly competition.

This week was also a great reminder of what can happen when Alexandria Housing Authority and Standard Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) work together. Our teams came together to plan activities, serve food, create some fun, and make sure our employees felt appreciated.

A very special THANK YOU to all of our sponsors and community partners who donated prizes, gift cards, food, and other items to help us celebrate our employees. Your generosity helped make this week extra special, and we truly appreciate your support of the people who serve our residents and our community. ❤️

Most of all, thank you to our employees. The work you do matters, and we hope this week reminded you just how much you are appreciated.

Ready to step into the ring? 🥊

The City of Alexandria’s Youth Empowerment Boxing Program kicks off Saturday, September 19 at Frank O. Hunter Gym. The free program is open to boys and girls ages 9–17 and gives young people a chance to build confidence, discipline and skills through boxing.

The kickoff runs from 9 a.m. to noon, with on-site registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Day 2 of our AHA Employee Appreciation Week was a good one!

Maintenance hosted Nacho Tuesday, and they definitely understood the assignment. Good food, good company, and a little friendly competition made for a fun afternoon.

Congratulations to Rasheda and Asia, who walked away with Olive Garden gift cards!

Our AHA Hot Stepper Challenge is also officially underway, and let’s just say… people are STEPPING! The teams are having fun, the friendly competition has started, and a few folks are already making it very clear that they came to win.

We’re only getting started, and we’ve got more fun ahead. Thank you to our Maintenance Team for hosting a great Nacho Tuesday and to everyone who is jumping in and making Employee Appreciation Week fun!
