Virginia American Water was happy to present a $6,000 Workforce Readiness & STEM Grant to the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA). The grant, provided by the American Water Charitable Foundation, will support the great work SFA is doing to help students achieve their education goals after high school. The support they provide to students extends beyond writing scholarship checks. Their staff provides year-round support to help students overcome barriers, access opportunities and successfully complete their journeys in college, technical training and career programs.

In 2023, the SFA could not forecast that in September 2026 RUN!GEEK!RUN! would choose us as the beneficiary! But here we are! Climb aboard, the run is fun and the water is plentiful, along with bananas, flamingos, dogs and kids of all ages.
