In case you missed it, on Friday before the Ladycat volleyball game and again at halftime of the Bearcat football game, Aledo High School celebrated winning the first-ever Class 5A Texas Cup presented by the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association in 2025-2026. ๐ช๐
The Texas Cup recognizes the ๐ overall athletic program in each of the six University Interscholastic League classifications across the state of Texas. ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฑ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ก๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฑ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐ ๐๐ญ๐ก๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆโ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ. It recognizes schools that demonstrate sustained achievement, commitment, and excellence across UIL team sports throughout the academic year.
In 2025-2026, that success included: a state gold medal for Bearcat Baseball ๐ฅ, a state silver medal for Ladycat Softball ๐ฅ, and state bronze medals for Bearcat Football ๐ฅ, Ladycat Volleyball ๐ฅ and Ladycat Cross Country ๐ฅ as well as individual state qualifiers in girls tennis, boys cross country, boys golf, boys and girls swimming, and boys and girls wrestling. Ladycat and Bearcat team sports went a combined 95-0-3 in district play in 2025-2026 with all nine team sports winning their district championship. ๐
Because of this incredibly successful year, Aledo High School has earned the distinction of being recognized as one of the premier overall athletic programs in the state of Texas. Congratulations to all of the coaches and student-athletes involved in earning this outstanding recognition!
