Update: A 15-year-old Drexel Hill resident was fatally stabbed on the 200 block of Bridge Street at approximately 9:30 yesterday evening. While the investigation is ongoing, we are looking for any and all information that can help. You can reach us at 484-574-1157.

Additionally, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27 has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for this senseless act of violence. If you or anyone you know can help, please call!

On today’s date, officers and school officials placed the Aldan Elementary School on lockdown due to a bullet being found inside of the building. An extensive search of the building was conducted with the assistance of Police K-9 units from Newtown Township and Lansdowne. The search by officers was conducted in a manner as to not cause alarm to the young students and concluded with no additional bullets or a weapon being discovered. The incident is still under investigation.

This morning the Aldan Police responded to a residence in the 400 Block of West Wayne Avenue for a subject in crisis. This incident did require the assistance of the Delaware County Emergency Response Team and was safely resolved. No injuries were sustained and there was no additional threat to area residents.

The Aldan Police Dept. is investigating a robbery of a motor vehicle that occurred in the parking lot of the Providence Village Shopping Center near the Hallmark Store. The robbery occurred yesterday afternoon around 3:15pm-3:18pm and was committed by two tan skinned males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and Gator like masks covering most of their faces. The victim in this incident was not injured and the male suspects fled the area in the victim’s grey Nissan Rogue traveling South on Oak Avenue then West on Providence Road. Aldan Police Officers along with area Fire Companies responded to a reported house fire in the Borough yesterday. Upon arrival, Officers encountered an active kitchen fire with a heavy smoke condition. Officers ensured that the residents of the home were safely evacuated and provided shelter to them from the cold in a police vehicle. Officers continued to safely evacuate additional residents from an attached apartment house as fire units arrived on scene. Volunteer fire personnel from Collingdale, Clifton Heights, Glenolden along with Darby did an excellent job with a quick response and subsequent fire suppression. No injuries were sustained in this incident and the Red Cross is assisting the residents.

On Friday, January 20 at 1624 HRS, Company 33 along with Clifton Heights Fire Company and Glenolden Fire Company Station 5 were alerted to a reported house fire on the 200-Block of West Providence Road in Aldan. Quint 33 was dispatched, responded and arrived on scene within 5 minutes as first arriving apparatus.

Crews discovered a kitchen fire, with minor fire extension into the walls, cabinets, and ceilings. First in crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire, which was placed under control around the first 10 minute mark, while being held to the room of origin.

Crews operated for a total of approximately one hour before returning available. No injuries were reported.

Personnel from the Aldan Police Dept. assisted the Prospect Park Police Dept. in serving an arrest warrant in the Borough yesterday. The arrest warrant was issued stemming from a criminal investigation of child luring that occurred in Prospect Park. As a result the below subject, Tyler Boyle, was taken into custody without incident.
