Saranam is an innovative, two-generational program that helps families experiencing homelessness in New Mexico achieve long-term self-sufficiency and break cycles of generational poverty. During our two-year program, families live in a safe, fully furnished transitional apartment with a community of their peers. This stable home provides a platform for the intensive education, life skills, and com
munity building that families undertake during their time at Saranam. Through their studies, families gain skills that will enable them to sustain positive outcomes and increase their long-term earning potential. After 16 years, we have served 142 families, including 298 children. Most importantly, 76 percent of our families successfully exit our program into safe, stable living situations on their own income.
