For over a decade, ORCA has been creating spaces in Albuquerque where LGBTQ+ older adults can gather, laugh, grieve, celebrate, and simply be themselves.

🎉 ORCA has a float in this year's parade, and we want YOU in the celebration! 🎉
The parade kicks off at 10:00 AM from Central and Wellesley, heading east on Central from Girard to San Mateo (about two miles).

Here's how you can join the fun:
🦺 BE A SAFETY MONITOR. We need 8 volunteers, one for each axle of the truck and trailer, to keep our truck, float, and marchers safe along the route.

🚶 MARCH WITH US. We're hoping for at least 6 marchers, but the more the merrier! Marchers will hand out ORCA swag (it always goes fast), and we'll provide aprons with pockets to carry it all.

👋 RIDE IN COMFORT. Not up for walking? The trailer has six chairs with your name on them. You will be tested on your British Royal wave. 👑

All safety monitors and marchers get a free ORCA tee shirt to wear in the parade, while supplies last. We'll also have water and lightweight, pretty parasols on hand (also while supplies last).

Our mission: social support, advocacy, and community for those who helped build the q***r world we live in today.

Did you know LGBTQ+ older adults face some of the highest rates of social isolation of any community?

At ORCA (the Older Rainbow Community of Albuquerque) we're working to change that.

Through social gatherings, support groups, and community events, we connect LGBTQ+ elders with each other and with the resources they deserve.
