Victory! Try as it may, the government can’t circumvent the Constitution in an effort to deter and punish asylum-seekers applying for protection.

This ruling will provide much-needed relief for people being detained in cruel and inhumane conditions while going through the asylum process.

What tragedy! We have work to do.

Many of you know that PVA was started by Albuquerque Progressives as a locally-based inclusive forum for progressive voters and activists. In the beginning we had a strong support but we learned that there are a handful of progressive organizations doing some of the same work and we slowly disappeared from the spotlight. The only way this group can be revived is by doing something new and innovative which can influence politics, policy and progressive causes.

My questions right now are; should PVA re-start the conversation? Is there a place for a grass roots progressive voice out there? Is there anyone out there willing to commit some time to this cause?
