Learn how to bring a project from idea to finished product by building your own custom desktop speakers. Participants will assemble a speaker kit and create an MDF speaker enclosure using the ShopBot CNC, gaining hands-on experience with digital fabrication and assembly along the way. This beginner-friendly workshop is a great opportunity to explore how makerspace tools work together to create something functional, personalized, and fun.

What happens when making, science, and community come together? 🔨🍻

Recently, FUSE Makerspace partnered with Explorara for their Science of Beer Adult Night, giving participants the chance to build their own wooden beer caddies while enjoying an evening of hands-on learning, creativity, and connection.

For us, the workshop was about more than building a beer caddy. It was an opportunity to introduce new people to the tools and skills available at FUSE while strengthening our connection with the broader Albuquerque community.

We’re grateful to Explora for continuing to create opportunities for us to collaborate—and we’re excited that this partnership will continue! We’ll be back at Explora screenprinting free tote bags in X Studio on October 16th for Adult Night, as well as this December for our annual Merry Maker Market.

Come meet the residents, hear more about the residency, and get a first look at their finished projects. ​It’s a chance to mingle, explore the space, and raise a glass to artists making things happen in Albuquerque. Sometimes, the greatest impact of learning a new skill happens outside the makerspace.

Through a PNM Light the Way Scholarship, FUSE member Mitchell was able to access the tools, equipment, and training at FUSE Makerspace. He took those new skills and put them to work supporting a neighborhood food project, demonstrating how investing in people can create lasting benefits for an entire community.

We're incredibly grateful to PNM for making opportunities like this possible and proud to support members who use what they learn to give back.

🎉Every class is the start of a new creative journey. Here's what Allison, one of our recent learners, had to say after trying welding for the first time.

"A few months ago, my son Miles mentioned he wanted to explore welding…and I said 'Lucky for you, I know just the place!' Last night Miles and I took the Intro to MIG Welding class with Stephen, one of FUSE's incredible instructors! Albuquerque folks, if you haven’t checked out FUSE, you’re missing out. Whether you’re a hobbyist, professional or just looking to try out a new skill, there’s a workshop and tools for you! So lucky to have this resource! Next up…TIG welding, wish us luck!"
