Bernalillo County Berners We are an active and progressive group of Bernalillo County NM Democrats that are organizing to get Progressive values represented in the State Party.

This includes all levels of leadership from Precinct Chair all the way up to State Chair. In addition, we are persistently engaging members of our community to participate in the Democratic party. THANK YOU to all the 2026 DPNM pre-primary delegates who supported our "No to Blackstone’s Proposed Acquisition of PNM; Yes to Public Power & the People’s Management of Resources in the Commons" resolution this week by voting down a hostile substitute. The SIC investment strategy proposed in the resolution would *not* convert PNM to government ownership and thus would leave union contracts and benefits in full force and effect. The final voting on Resolution 2 will begin tomorrow. Please support us again by voting YES! We are also hosting an additional forum tomorrow night, 4/14 at 7 pm by zoom, see comments for link. Bernie Sanders is calling for an end to outside influence in Democratic primaries. In a recent post, Sanders said AIPAC is spending millions of dollars to defeat candidates who criticize the policies of Benjamin Netanyahu.

Sanders argued that billionaire-funded super PACs should not be shaping Democratic elections. He said it is time to “kick AIPAC and other billionaire funded super PACs out of Democratic primaries” and end to foreign backed interference in U.S. political races.

Matt Dodson is running for U.S. Senate in New Mexico as a Democratic Socialist focused on working families. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he has lived in the state 35 years, knocked thousands of doors, and registered thousands of new voters.

His campaign says it has already surpassed its 6,500 signature cushion for ballot access and is now focused on grassroots fundraising and building awareness of his campaign. ☀️
