MAN WHO EXPOSED HIMSELF AND WATCHED CHILDREN IN DRESSING ROOMS PLEADS GUILTY
This week, Timothy Riha pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated indecent exposure and two counts of voyeurism for a series of incidents at stores across Albuquerque in 2025.
Riha exposed himself while watching a mother and her young daughter in a fitting room at Coronado Mall. At Cottonwood Mall, he exposed himself in the food court.
At a Target on Paseo del Norte, he viewed a 17-year-old girl while she was changing clothes in the dressing room. Security video helped investigators identify Riha as the suspect.
At a different Target location, he viewed an 8-year-old girl in the dressing room.
Riha is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

FELONY WARRANT ARREST: AGENTS TRACK DOWN SUSPECT HIDING IN CRAWL SPACE
This week, agents with the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office arrested Christopher Sanchez, who was wanted on felony charges of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Under 13) and Cruelty to Animals.
Sanchez tried to evade arrest by hiding in the crawl space of a condemned home. Our agents tracked him down and took him into custody.
Court records allege Sanchez was in possession of approximately 500 electronic files, including photos and videos containing Child Sexual Abuse Material. Investigators also found evidence that several dogs were being mistreated inside his residence.
Sanchez was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center without incident.
Our agents are out there finding people with felony warrants and bringing them to justice.

SUSPECT CHARGED WITH FATALLY STABBING ABQ WOMAN — DETAINED
A judge today ruled Geraldine Begay will remain in custody as her case moves through the judicial process.
Investigators say last month, 52-year-old Begay stabbed 59-year-old Crystal Markum at the French Quarter Apartments, near San Mateo and Gibson. Markum later died from her injuries. Police say Begay was trying to stab a dog at the apartment complex, and Markum was trying to get her to leave when Begay attacked her.
Begay is now charged with First-Degree Murder.

MAN CHARGED WITH KILLING FAMILY FRIEND AFTER FIGHT OVER GREEN CHILE ENCHILADAS — DETAINED
A judge today ruled Ervin Gutierrez, 22, will remain in custody as his case moves through the judicial process.
Gutierrez is charged with shooting and killing Nathaniel Cavazos, 25, following an argument over the heat of the green chile on the enchiladas they were eating.
According to investigators, Gutierrez and Cavazos were at an apartment drinking and having dinner when an argument turned into a physical fight. After the fight, police say Gutierrez pulled out a handgun and shot Cavazos several times, killing him.
The fatal shooting happened last week outside the Copper Hills Apartments, located at 4200 Spanish Bit St. NE when the two men were having dinner with their cousin. Gutierrez is charged with an open count of murder.

The Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office filed a motion to detain the suspect in this case. A judge denied it.
