NIA Resource Center for Victims of Violent Death

NIA Resource Center for Victims of Violent Death We serve those dealing in the aftermath of violent death. We provide information, comfort, advocacy, and peer group counseling - all at no charge

For every victim of violent death there are many “living” victims seeking information, reassurance, and resolution. We are here to help the moms, dads, husbands, wives, children, siblings, friends, and coworkers who have been impacted.

A special person who helped this agency get started has passed away - Hugh Prather. In his obituary he asked only that to honor him we be kind to each other, and our pets, and to take a moment to enjoy each day. In honor of Hugh and all those we love, please be kind - even to yourself, and find a moment of joy in each day. With caring thoughts, Pat Caristo.

Don't give up hope for justice for your loved one taken by violence - TWO CONVICTIONS THIS WEEK - one was GUILTY of 1st Degree murder - on a retrial after a hung jury in 2022 and a 2010 (yes) case - LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE (a California court case for our client family). Caring thoughts, Pat

I was at the sentencing hearing this morning for the 3 killers of Collin Romero 15 and Ahmed Lateef 14 - the family of Ahmed are our clients. So sad to hear the mothers and family members giving their victim impact statements - such a loss - so useless a crime (the Judge even said so)- the killers received double life sentences plus 19 years. Sending my caring thoughts to all who face this terrible violence's. I wish I could think of more meaningful words to say. Thanks New Mexico Crusaders for Justice for being there for these families. We are there to help also - Resource Center for Victims of Violent Death - 505-243-2222

WHY, WHY, WHY? Why do people with "issues" have to kill children in a school and also kill others who have nothing to do with the "issues" How sad, How useless. How do we change this?

We are here if this brings up all your grief again. 505-243-2222

Yes I do truly understand this, because I almost always catch myself and think I won’t let go because forever I am missing my son. Impossible to completely heal 💔
