❤️❤️ We've had the pleasure of working with both Santa Fe Community College (NM) and the Energized Watershed Engine team! This is an incredible effort with exceptional people that we hope NSF selects for funding.

SFCC along with higher education and industry partners has been named as a semifinalist for a proposal in the National Science Foundation (NSF) regional engines competition. The proposed initiative would address water scarcity and resilience across the Southwest. Known as the Energized Watershed Engine (EW Engine), the effort would bring together more than 50 partners and over $641 million in public and private commitments to accelerate water access, reuse and energy innovation.

We just can’t. CNM Central New Mexico Community College’s biotech summer interns are too fantastic. Over the course of two hours today they’ve taught us how to make algae balls, that mosquitoes go crazy after flood events like those in Ruidoso (🤦‍♀️ another thing to worry about), and that it is easier to pluck a grape than detach a nursing opossum pup from its mother.

An incredible program with incredible people that we are humbled to have on our RIO-NM team

Thanks to The University of New Mexico - UNM and the City of Albuquerque for hosting these interns.
Bonus fact: Opossum mammary tissue has a microbiome. 🎶 The more you know...🎶
