This project will support the improvement of NAPPR’s existing Family Room within our current facility or the creation of a larger, enhanced space in the new building we are purchasing to accommodate organizational growth. These spaces are designed to serve as calming, private areas where families can meet with staff, access educational and community resources, decompress during difficult appointments, or find quiet support in a culturally welcoming setting.

The project will include thoughtful room enhancements such as fresh paint, updated lighting, and added privacy features to create a welcoming and comfortable environment. The space will be furnished with cozy seating for both adults and children, complemented by child-friendly touches to ensure accessibility and comfort for all ages. Shelving will be installed to house a collection of culturally relevant print materials covering topics such as health, education, financial literacy, and parenting. To further support families, the room will include a computer device to provide access to digital resources, forms, and applications. Finally, the space will be designed with trauma-informed principles in mind, incorporating calming colors, sensory elements, and culturally meaningful décor to foster a sense of safety, dignity, and belonging.
