New Mexico families: money may be waiting for you. Since my administration created the state Child Tax Credit in 2023, families can save up to $637 per child. More than 240,000 families have cashed in since the credit launched.

Don't leave it on the table — find out here if your family qualifies at the link in the first comment.

New Mexico became the first state to ban armed federal personnel from polling places, parking areas, and within 50 feet of monitored ballot drop boxes. The law, Senate Bill 264, aims to prevent voter intimidation and protect election integrity. U.S. Rep. Gabe Vasquez praised the measure, saying it helps ensure voters can cast ballots free from interference.

The law also allows voters, election workers, and state officials to sue anyone who obstructs or intimidates voters, with penalties of up to $50,000 per violation. Supporters say it strengthens voting rights, public confidence in elections, and New Mexico's authority over its election process.

Last week the U.S. House passed a bipartisan bill that curbs predatory corporate home buying, expands the construction of affordable housing, and gives Americans more options for renting or buying a home. The bill’s name is the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. It next goes to the Senate. Rep. Gabe Vasquez called it, “the biggest win for housing affordability in a generation.”

The National Low Income Housing Coalition has a summary of the bill:
