The new BernCo Northeast Animal Care Services Adoption and Education facility would not be possible without support from our legislators.

The new facility will be located in Representative Matthews northeast heights district. She has been a strong supporter from day one.

Revitalizing an abandoned building while rehoming adoptable pets. What’s not to love?

Thank you Representative Matthews 🙏

Public safety is always our top priority and we delivered on that commitment in the East mountains with 4 new fire engines.

I joined the Bernalillo County Fire Rescue Department at a push in celebration in the East Mountains.

The county has invested over $4 million in this new equipment. These state of the art vehicles will provide more water to put out fires and more reliable service when seconds count.

Public safety is about collaboration. That’s why I’ve prioritized relationships with key partners like the City of Albuquerque.

APD and BCSO are the premier law enforcement agencies in the state and keeping our law enforcement agencies well equipped, well trained and working together is key to driving down crime.

A special thanks to Sheriff Allen and Chief Barker for their leadership and an even bigger thanks to the men and women who protect our community every day!

We left Herrera Road and Route 66 better than we found it at last weekend’s East Mountain cleanup for Earth Day!

Thanks to the Village of Tijeras and the Carnuel Land Grant for hosting with us.

If everyone does their part every day we will have a better community!

County budget is up for final action tonight!

There are some important investments in public safety like crime fighting technology for the Sheriff and more staffing for the county jail.

However I have concerns that we aren’t investing in our most important asset - our people.

I’ll be making an amendment to secure a small raise for employees making less than $80,000 a year, and to invest more in our libraries and Main Street programs. Our employees are the ones that do the work and they need this now more than ever.

The Youth Gateway Center is now open and is located in District 5! This facility serves young people looking for a path forward in life with a roof over their head and wraparound services.

Thank you to City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn for leading this project and to all the legislators, federal delegation and city officials who made this happen!

Dignity and compassion for our young people ✅✅✅

Thank you Mile High Little League for inviting me to opening day. I joined our NE heights delegation in throwing out the ceremonial first pitch!

Programs like little league keep kids active and healthy while building community and lifelong skills.

I’ve invested county funds in Mile High to help support our youth.

Thank you Bruce Kelly, president of Mile High and to all the families participating this year!

Veterans never stop serving just like those I visited today with team Rubicon working to reduce fire risk in the east mountains.

Thank you to all our Veterans who have served our county and defended our constitution. Freedom and liberty are values core to our nation and our beliefs.

May we always lift up and support those who have served our country and put their lives on the line for it.
