The Belen Police Dept., Belen Fire Department and the City of Belen came together with the SONM Belen/Los Lunas Cobras to raise awareness of the New Mexico Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics New Mexico.

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office along with New Mexico Corrections Department Adult Probation, Clovis Police Department, New Mexico State Police along with the local Special Olympics New Mexico athletes carried the flame of hope torch in Clovis!

The Flame of Hope torch made its way through Alamogordo today thanks to the Alamogordo Police Department, Otero County Sheriff’s Office, US Border Patrol, New Mexico State Police, MTC Otero County Prison Facility along with the Otero County Special Olympics athletes!

The Flame of Hope torch is lit in Lovington and Carlsbad and carried to Artesia.

Thank you to Lea County Sheriff's Office, Eddy County Sheriff, Artesia Police Department for carrying the torch for our Special Olympics New Mexico athletes!

The Las Cruces Police Department carried the flame of hope torch on Friday, May 8th to raise awareness for Special Olympics New Mexico.

On May 29th, the torch will arrive in Albuquerque and will be carried in to the State Summer Games Opening Ceremonies where the cauldron will be lit!

The 2026 LETR State Relay Run will be held in May leading up to the 2026 Special Olympics New Mexico State Summer Games. Statewide Routes will run from May 18–29 and the Final Leg will be on Friday, May 29, at 5:30 PM in Albuquerque's Civic Plaza.
