May is APINH Heritage Month — a time to honor the Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian communities whose histories, cultures, languages, doorways, faith traditions, artistry, and lived experiences continue to shape Albuquerque.
As the Office of APINH Affairs, we recognize that APINH is not one story, one culture, or one identity. It is broad and vibrant diaspora with roots across Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Native Hawaiian homelands. Here in Albuquerque, APINH communities continue to contribute to the spirit, economy, creativity, and future of our city.
This month, we celebrate visibility. We celebrate belonging. We celebrate the elders, families, small business owners, artists, students, faith leaders, workers, and community builders who make Albuquerque a richer and more connected place.
While APINH Heritage Month is recognized in May, our commitment to honoring, uplifting, and investing in APINH communities continues year-round.
