We are so happy to assist with this awesome opportunity for the youth of our community, to get a little bit of an idea and experience, in what it takes to be a fireman. The day will start with a real “FIREHOUSE” breakfast and follow with each student getting hands on instructions from the men and women of many local fire departments. There are only 10 spots yet, so if interested, get signed up.

March's Public Service Announcement!!!!!

1) Springtime starts the tornado weather season, and to ensure our community is quickly notified, we will start our tornado siren testing again. We will test the area sirens at 6 pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. BUT, today (Tuesday, March 10th) is the National Weather Service's Tornado Siren test day. So around 10:20 am, the sirens should go off for this test as well.

2) Open Burning: Please see the photos attached for the rules of acceptable open burning. As you can see, they differ from residential, agricultural, and commercial. And none of them allows a tire or two to be included. (Inside joke for our farmer friends!)

3) If you are going to have a legally controlled burn, you must call the Noble County Communications Department at 260-636-2182 and select option #1, then provide them with the information they request. This keeps us from responding to your controlled burn when someone sees the smoke and gets concerned.

4) Contrary to popular belief, green grass will burn, and it will burn like crazy. So don't get fooled by the fuel loads lying beneath these green grasses.

5) April 4th- The Easter Bunny Breakfast will be at the Fire Station. Please follow us for more information as we get closer.

Have a safe week.

We want to congratulate Firefighter Jared Hill on his graduation from his Fire Academy.

Jared started his academy in August and has dedicated between eight and twelve hours a week to classroom and hands-on instruction. He will now head right into his Emergency Medical Responder course.

We want to thank Jared's family for allowing him to be away from home for so many nights and Saturdays. Please hang on for just a few more weeks!

Jared had a wonderful family presence at his ceremony, with his wife and kids, his parents, grandmother, and in-laws all in attendance. This just proves that it takes a strong family commitment to be a member of a volunteer fire department.

It was a privilege to pin his badge on him and make him an official firefighter for the Albion Fire Department.

ATTENTION‼
The Parkview Samaritan will be landing at the Noble County Saddle Club on Tuesday, September 30th. They will be landing to participate as a presenter for the annual safety day at The Arc Noble County Foundations. Please don't be alarmed if you see them landing, taking off, or landed during that time. We expect to have them in the area between 10:30am-12:30pm. We are very excited to have them joining us as we prepare and educate individuals and staff on what could be expected in an emergency.

This past weekend, the Albion Volunteer Fire Department hosted Rescue Task Force training for most of the Noble County Fire Departments, Parkview EMS, and local Police agencies, too.
This two-day training was funded solely by the District 3 Health Care Coalition, headed by Noble County Emergency Management Agency Deputy Director Ann Carpenter. They funded two courses for area responders.
This training taught our responders the framework of working at an active assailant incident, triaging, and treating the injured. Rescue Task Forces enter areas cleared by law enforcement and allow quicker treatment and removal of the injured while under the protection of police officers.
All of the students did an amazing job learning and simulating the treatment and removal of the patients.
All weapons that you see are NOT live and are only being simulated by actual law enforcement officers.
