Albertville Kindergarten and Pre-K

Albertville Kindergarten and Pre-K Albertville Kindergarten and Pre-K is home to over 600 students grades Pre-K and Kindergarten. AKPK is a fun place to learn! Students have PE daily.

Our Philosophy

Our goal is to provide a quality instructional program with high expectations for all students, staff, and administrators. We believe that education is a cooperative effort between the home, school and community that nurtures a child's complete development. We believe that kindergarten should provide a learning environment that is meaningful for children by integrating subject matter into units of study that begin with the development of the child's understanding of the world around him or her. Learning is directly related to the child's everyday surroundings in an environment rich with literature and print. The planned outcome of our program is that every student will leave kindergarten with the skills necessary to progress in the future and a lifelong love of learning.

🎉 Welcome Miss Ramirez to the AKPK Family! ❤️🖤

We are so excited to have Miss Ramirez joining Albertville Kindergarten & Pre-K this year! 🍎✨ A graduate of Athens State University, she completed her internships within Albertville City Schools and is now beginning her teaching journey in the same community that helped shape her.

Miss Ramirez is passionate about creating a positive classroom where students feel encouraged, supported, and confident in knowing they can do hard things. ❤️📚

Outside of school, she enjoys teaching Sabbath School at her church and spending time with family and friends. We are excited for her to continue learning and growing at AKPK!

🎉 Welcome Mrs. Howard to the AKPK Family! ❤️🖤

We are so excited to have Mrs. Howard joining Albertville Kindergarten & Pre-K this year! 🍎✨ With 6 years of teaching experience across 1st grade, 3rd grade, and pre-k, she brings a love for learning and a passion for helping students grow.

Mrs. Howard shared that words cannot express how blessed she feels for the opportunity to teach at Albertville City Schools, and we are just as excited for her to begin this new chapter! ❤️

She and her husband, Doug, have been married for 5 years and have one beautiful daughter, Maggie, who is almost 2 years old. 👨‍👩‍👧

We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Thompson as the new principal of Albertville Kindergarten & Pre-K! 🍎✨

Mrs. Thompson brings 14 years of educational experience, a passion for serving students and families, and deep roots in the Aggie community. From beginning her career in Albertville as a migrant Pre-K aide to now leading AKPK, her journey truly reflects the heart of Aggie Nation! ❤️

She and her husband, Adam, along with their three children, are excited to be back home in the Aggie family — and we are excited to have them here!

🎉☀️ And just like that… school was out for SUMMER! 🚌💛

Yesterday, we waved goodbye to another amazing school year filled with learning, laughter, hugs, and so many sweet memories!

🫶📚✨ Watching our students head off to summer break while our faculty and staff waved, smiled, and made heart hands made for the sweetest ending to a wonderful year. ❤️👋

We are so proud of each and every one of our little learners and can’t wait to hear all about their summer adventures! 🌈🍉😎

🚪 Please do not take students to the Fine Arts Center entrance. Families arriving there will be redirected to the South Hall entrance.

To help make our AKPK Pre-K and Kindergarten Graduation programs enjoyable for everyone, please keep the following in mind:

✨ No balloons or noise makers will be allowed inside the Fine Arts Center.
👏 Please follow all directions regarding applause and/or shouting during the programs.
🚪 Please follow all directions for exiting the Fine Arts Center during and after the programs.

Please make arrangements for an adult on your child’s pickup list to pick up any remaining medication from the nurse’s office by:

🗓 Thursday, May 21st
⏰ No later than 2:00 PM

❗ Any medication left after this time will be discarded.

➡️ Rising 1st grade students’ health plans, emergency action plans, and medical paperwork will be forwarded to the nurse at Albertville Primary School.

➡️ Students needing medication at school for the 2026–2027 school year will need a new prescriber form completed by their doctor. Summer is a great time to get those updated!
