What does a CAJA volunteer do?

The number of people in our community who know about the CAJA program is growing. One of the first questions we hear is, “What do your advocates do?” We’re glad you asked.

Court Appointed Juvenile Advocates are trained volunteers who are appointed by the court to advocate for the best interests of children involved in abuse and neglect cases.

Advocates gather information, monitor a child’s situation, and provide recommendations to the court with the goal of helping ensure each child has the opportunity for a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.

These dedicated volunteers serve as consistent, caring adults during what can often be a difficult and uncertain time in a child’s life.

Questions about our program? We’d love to hear them in the comments.
