Today, we celebrate a remarkable advocate, mentor, teacher, and friend.
After decades of service, Kathleen Connelly is retiring from the Alabama Coalition Against R**e. While many know her as a Program Manager, those of us fortunate enough to work alongside her know she has been so much more.
For years, Kathleen has walked beside victim service providers across Alabama, helping agencies like ours strengthen our programs, improve our services, and uphold the highest standards of care.
She has reviewed our finances, analyzed our data, examined our policies and procedures, and challenged us to always strive for excellence … not for compliance’s sake, but because survivors deserve nothing less.
Kathleen has trained and educated countless advocates throughout her career, shaping generations of professionals who now serve victims and survivors across our state. Through her leadership in Ethics Training, she continually reminded us that integrity is not just something we talk about … it is something we practice in every decision we make.
Her wisdom, guidance, and unwavering commitment to survivors have left an indelible mark on Family Services of North Alabama and on the entire victim services movement in Alabama.
While her absence will be felt tremendously, her legacy will continue through every advocate she mentored, every agency she strengthened, and every survivor who benefited from the systems she helped improve.
Kathleen … thank you for your decades of service, your commitment to excellence, and your steadfast belief that this work matters. What you have taught us will be paid forward and carried on for years to come.
Please join us in congratulating Kathleen on her well-earned retirement and thanking her for the countless lives she has impacted along the way.
