Yesterday morning we were notified for an engine to standby for the Glenwood Fire Co while they battled a multiple alarm fire in a commercial building. Engine 8011 responded and was upgraded to the scene while enroute and given orders to pick up a hydrant and lay in. Upon arrival, the crew of 8011 assisted the crew of Syosset TL582 to gain access to the 2 side of the building. After operating on scene, E8011 was requested to standby in Glenwood while they wrapped up at the scene. E8011 operated both on scene and standing by for approximately 4 hours in total 📸credit:

On the Morning of Friday February 27th at 2:05am, we were alerted by for a house fire on Oxford Street in the Roslyn Heights section of our district. A signal 10 was transmitted for fire out the windows on the 1/2 corner of a private dwelling. Engine 8011 arrived on scene to stretch an initial handline to extinguish the main body of fire. Ladder 809 arrived moments after 8011 and assisted with searches and getting a 2nd handline into operation. All occupants made it out of the house safely. On Monday, the Albertson Fire Company in conjunction with the Ladies Auxiliary and members’ families had the absolute honor in delivering presents to all the little boys and girls of The Viscardi Center. Thanks to the help from the Toys for Tots foundation we were able to hand out over 300 gifts with a little help from Santa, The Grinch, and Sparky.
This is now our second year, having the privilege to give back to such inspiring kids and we hope to continue to make this a yearly tradition.

HO HO HO!
In keeping with tradition, Santa will be driving around the Albertson, Searingtown, and Roslyn Heights Community. Santa is very busy and will only be able to make 60 stops to houses across the neighborhood on a first come, first serve basis.

Earlier this evening, members of the Albertson Fire Company trained with our rescue struts and airbags — a great opportunity for seasoned members to refresh their skills and for newer members to learn how the equipment operates.

While these tools are typically used for larger trees or heavy objects, smaller tree limbs were used for tonight’s drill to safely simulate the scenario.

The Town of North Hempstead proudly stands with our firefighters & first responders. Yesterday, Carle Place Fire Department Chief, Willie Geddish suffered serious burns while responding to a fire in Roslyn Heights. Tonight, Town Hall will be lit red in honor of Chief Geddish — a symbol of our gratitude, prayers, & support for his recovery, & for all those who courageously protect our community every day. ♥️🙏🏼
