🐾🐶 Choctaw Hounds Pound 261 Represents at the 2026 Department Convention 🐶🐾
The Dogs of Choctaw Hounds Pound 261 proudly attended the 2026 Department Convention, joining fellow Devil Dogs from across Louisiana for a weekend filled with Fun, Fellowship, and Devotion.
We were honored to participate in the Louisiana Pack Grand Growl and witness the installation of the new Louisiana Pack Officers by Past Chief Devil Dog Alan Sanning, the 60th Chief Devil Dog. Congratulations to PDD Dave “D-Day” Martin on his installation as Louisiana Pack Leader, and best wishes to all of the newly installed Pack Officers.
One of the highlights of the weekend was welcoming four Pups as they advanced to the Degree of Devil Dog. Choctaw Hounds was especially proud that two of those new Devil Dogs came from our own Pound. Congratulations to James Wicks and Bryan Powell on earning the Degree of Devil Dog and taking the next step in their MODD journey.
Choctaw Hounds members were also well represented during the awards and recognition portion of the convention. Congratulations to PDD James Roy, PDD Todd Messina, and PDD Frank Muscarello, who each received the Pack Leader’s Commendation Ribbon in recognition of their dedication and service to the Louisiana Pack and the Military Order of the Devil Dogs.
The charitable spirit of the Devil Dogs was on full display throughout the convention. Through the generosity of Dogs from across Louisiana, several hundred Big Bones were raised for the Kennel Children’s Hospital Fund, and more than 800 pounds of dog food was collected and donated through Crooked Tail Pound 168 to a local animal shelter. We are proud to have played a role in efforts that support both children and animals in need.
The convention also provided an opportunity for Dogs from every Pound in Louisiana to strengthen friendships, exchange ideas, and enjoy the camaraderie that makes our Order unique. Whether in the Grand Growl, the hospitality room, or simply sharing stories with fellow Dogs, the weekend reminded us why the Military Order of the Devil Dogs continues to thrive.
Choctaw Hounds Pound 261 extends its congratulations to all award recipients, newly installed officers, and newly initiated Devil Dogs. We also thank every Dog who attended and represented our Pound throughout the weekend.
The future of Choctaw Hounds remains strong because of the dedication, enthusiasm, and leadership of our members. We look forward to another year of supporting the Louisiana Pack while promoting the principles of Fun, Fellowship, and Devotion.
