Today we remember a former member of Bethany who recently passed. He and his brothers had a part in the creation of our department back in 1956. Thank you for your service to this community and rest in peace.

Stanly County remains under a burn ban until further notice. All outdoor fires will be extinguished and fines could be imposed by either the Fire Marshall's Office or NC Forestry. Please refrain from burning.

Last night after our monthly EMS ConEd, some members stayed late and celebrated National Volunteer Week with some fellowship and a low country boil.

Our volunteers trained last night on Basic Pump Operations with E282 and B286 while also practicing deploying and advancing hoselines.

Please be advised, a ban on all outside fires is now in effect for our area until further notice.

BURN BAN IN EFFECT – STANLY COUNTY

Due to increased fire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28, until further notice.

In addition, local agencies including the Stanly County Fire Marshal's Office & City of Albemarle Fire Marshal's Office have also issued bans prohibiting burning.

🚨 What this means:
- No outdoor burning of any kind
- This includes campfires, bonfires, and agricultural burning
- Applies to all areas of Stanly County

🔥 These restrictions are in place to reduce the risk of wildfires and protect lives and property during high fire danger conditions.

⚠️ Violations may result in a fine of up to $250 for a first offense.

Last nights training involved a little friendly competition we like to call "Make it and Break it" drills. We're teaching basics of hose connections, appliances, and hose rolls.
