The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Northwestern Moore County in central North Carolina...
Northern Montgomery County in central North Carolina...
Southern Randolph County in central North Carolina...
East central Stanly County in central North Carolina...

* Until 1100 AM EDT.

* At 1036 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over Badin Lake, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Badin Lake around 1040 AM EDT.
Seagrove around 1050 AM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Steeds, Eldorado, Star, Ulah, and Morrow Mountain State Park.

This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 50 and 71.
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Motorists should not take shelter under highway overpasses. If you
cannot safely drive away from the tornado, as a last resort, either
park your vehicle and stay put, or abandon your vehicle and lie down
in a low lying area and protect yourself from flying debris.

Tomorrow, we are excited to partner with Atrium Health Stanly to offer free Hands Only CPR training to anyone in the community. It only takes 5 minutes of your time, and you learn a valuable skill that could help save a life one day!

We will be located in the Azalea Classroom on the hospital campus from 9AM - 12PM.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the RACE-CARS Trial out of Duke University is attempting to set the CPR world record by training 30,000 people in Hands-Only CPR across 30 participating counties in North Carolina.

13,567 Scene Calls: Our paramedics and EMTs were on the front lines, providing advanced life-support care directly at the scene of emergencies.

3,020 District Standby Calls: To ensure we are always in the best position to reach you quickly, our units performed over 3,000 strategic standbys to minimize response times across the county.

We are incredibly proud of our team’s dedication to providing high-quality, compassionate care 24/7, 365 days a year.

Josiah has been a dedicated member of Stanly County EMS since 2020, serving with excellence as a Lieutenant and Field Training Officer. With previous experience from other EMS agencies, Josiah brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and leadership to every role he takes on.

In his new position, Josiah will continue his mission of Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) focusing on connecting patients to the right care, reducing hospital readmissions, and improving overall community health. We were proud to join the fun at the Farm Bureau Livestock Arena for AG Day, showcasing an important safety message with our vehicle heat display. ☀️🔥 Did you know how quickly the temperature inside a car can become dangerous? Our demonstration helped raise awareness about the risks of leaving children or pets in vehicles—even for a short time.
