Lights of Liberty Drone Show after Food Truck Friday event 🇺🇸 JUNE 5th

What You Need to Know for the Lights of Liberty Drone Show at City Lake Park

Join us on Friday, June 5 at 9 p.m. for a spectacular FREE drone show at City Lake Park (815 Concord Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001).

This one‑of‑a‑kind show will feature 250 illuminated drones choreographed to narration and music, creating vivid moving images and patriotic scenes across the night sky. It’s a storytelling‑style fireworks experience with a modern twist.

Come Early for Food Truck Friday. Make an evening of it!

Food Truck Friday runs 5:30–9:00 p.m. at City Lake Park featuring:
• A variety of food trucks
• Live music from Heart Breaker
• Open lawn seating — bring your own chairs or blankets

Parking at City Lake Park
Parking is limited and fills up quickly, especially for large events like this one.
• Arrive early if you plan to park on‑site.
• When possible, carpool with friends, family, or neighbors.

Alternative Parking & Free Shuttle
Prefer not to deal with park traffic? Consider using the free shuttle.
• Park at Market Station (501 W Main St, Albemarle, NC 28001)
• Free shuttles run continuously from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• Shuttle ride time is approximately five minutes
• Keep in mind: many guests find it easier to drop off passengers at City Lake Park first, then park downtown and take the shuttle back.

America 250 NC Airstream Traveling Exhibit
Don’t miss the America 250 NC Airstream, which will be on‑site for visitors to tour. Explore interactive exhibits celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Special Giveaway
The first 800 cars to arrive will receive a free LED light‑up American flag, courtesy of the City of Albemarle Electric Division and ElectriCities.

The Stanly County seniors embarked on a mystery trip featuring visits to the Sandhills Community College Horticulture gardens and a scenic trolley ride around Pinehurst and Aberdeen. Enjoyed lunch and shopping in downtown Southern Pines, followed by a nostalgic trip to the historic Hamlet train station. Concluding the day with a delightful treat from The Berry Patch in Ellerbe.

Last Friday we had a spectacular day at Morrow Mountain State Park! It was all about celebrating the heart and soul of Stanly County Senior Services-OUR INCREDIBLE VOLUNTEERS.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better crew to spend it with. We hit the trails for a scenic hike, had some friendly competition with outdoor games, enjoyed a BBQ picnic from Whispering Pines B-B-Q and topped it all off with some local scoops from Moonset General Store.

Thank you to all of our volunteers! You are the backbone of everything we do.
