Last night, around 5:30pm we responded to a suspicious circumstance involving a child on Sagecrest Dr. NE. It was reported a young blonde haired female child was in a fenced public greenway when a male picked up the child and put her in a compact black sedan with tinted windows. The child was yelling for her mom and the vehicle left the area. Since then, officers and investigators canvased the neighborhood by going door to door, viewed all available home video surveillance provided by residents and contacted GAPS to hopefully identify the child through school records. Investigators have worked tirelessly throughout the night and today to attempt to identify the child involved. We have not received any reports of missing children or any other calls related to this incident.
At this time, we are still looking to identify and speak with the operator of the small black sedan with tinted windows and, most importantly, verify the welfare of the child involved.
