NEW ✉️

Our Conference today sent a letter to the NYSDEC and PSC requesting guidance on on state data center regulations. With their rapid proliferation and recent news that the City of Albany may be getting one, it's important that we know the long-term economic and environmental impacts of these projects on our local communities.

County residents shouldn't be paying one cent more in utility costs for starters!

Yesterday, members of our Conference toured and met with representatives from the Capital Region Crime Analysis Center. The work these individuals do to support law enforcement operations is critical to keeping our streets safe.

In an era where certain "criminal-catching" technologies are criticized, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the men and women of law enforcement and fully support their efforts. Thank you for your service!

“This award would’ve received more scrutiny from legislators if it went through the normal committee process, as was the case before the Contract Administration Board's threshold was raised,” Albany County Legislative Minority Leader Frank Mauriello said in a statement. “A taxpayer-funded, campaign-like mailer and PR contract are great examples of what happens when the legislature votes away its own responsibilities.”

The county rejected at least one bid that would have charged less than $50,000 to tout local economic development efforts.

Important update on Proposed Local Law 'D' for 2026 📜

The bill to eliminate the County's 4% sales tax on clothing and footwear went to public hearing this week and was tabled at committee at the request of County officials who would like to do a more thorough fiscal analysis.

We estimate the bill could save shoppers $7.5 million annually, without creating any deficit in the next County budget💵
