🚧 TRAVEL ADVISORY – BUFFALO: Due to maintenance work, exit 9 (Fort Erie Canada - Porter Avenue - Peace Bridge) on the Niagara Thruway (I-190) northbound will be closed on SUNDAY from 4-10 a.m.

Travelers who need to access the Peace Bridge should use exit 8 (Niagara Street - NY Route 266) and take Niagara Street to Porter Avenue.

🚧 : A $39.7 million pavement improvement project is underway on I-95 in Westchester County. The project includes repairs and resurfacing within the heavily traveled corridor used by an average of approximately 120,000 vehicles daily.

Since 2023, the Thruway has been laser-focused on our 15-mile stretch of I-95, launching three projects worth close to $200 million to resurface virtually all of its pavement along with rehabilitating numerous bridges and other infrastructure from the Bronx to Westchester.

Tuesday marked the final Thruway Authority board meeting for longtime member, Joanie Mahoney, who served for more than a decade, including as Board Chair. During her tenure, she helped lead some of the Authority’s most significant efforts, from the delivery of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge to the transition to systemwide cashless tolling, which has now processed more than two billion transactions.

Her time on the board also included oversight of the modernization of all 27 Thruway Service Areas and support for billions in capital investments to improve safety, reliability and the customer experience, while maintaining a strong financial footing and keeping tolls as low as possible for motorists.

Thank you, Joanie, for your years of dedicated public service and best wishes on your next chapter!
