Albany County Legislature members Matt Miller and Susan Laurilliard joined County Executive Daniel McCoy Monday at the monthly Honor-A-Vet Program at Albany’s Ancient Order of the Hibernians to celebrate Thomas A. Regan.
Regan enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965, serving in the Vietnam War as a senior gunner’s mate aboard an ammunition supply ship.

Upon his return, Regan became a Hot Stick Lineman with National Grid, married his beloved Barbara, and raised three children.
Regan was also given the key to the City of Albany after saving two lives. He was awarded the “Distinguished Veteran” and “Senior of the Year” awards from Albany County.
And he co-founded “Please Remember Me,” a non-profit that raises flags on utility poles every summer in Loudonville to represent fallen soldiers from World War II through today.
Regan died in December.

The Albany County Legislature salutes Regan’s military service to our nation and his civilian contributions to our community!
