Immigrants are the ❤️ of New York!

National Immigrant Heritage Month, celebrated throughout June, uplifts the backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences of immigrants to the United States.

With more than 4.5 million immigrants and over 800 languages and dialects, New York is one of the nation’s most linguistically diverse states.

The New York State Office of Language Access proudly joins the New York State Office for New Americans in continuing to advocate for language justice by making sure all New Yorkers can access essential government programs and services, regardless of their preferred language.

Happy National Immigrant Heritage Month!

Big congratulations to two public servants who have been recognized on the national stage thanks to their remarkable work at OGS. 👏👏

Dhanraj Singh, New York State’s Chief Procurement Officer, and the agency’s most recent Chief of Staff, Deanna Ewart, have both been named recipients of the 2026 NASCA 20 Under 40 Award.

Presented by the National Association of State Chief Administrators, the award recognizes outstanding young leaders from across the country who are making significant contributions to state government through innovation, collaboration, and public service.

From modernizing procurement systems and improving transparency to advancing major statewide initiatives focused on accessibility, sustainability, and infrastructure, Dhanraj and Deanna have helped shape initiatives that impact New Yorkers every day.

Their recognition reflects not only their individual leadership but also the opportunities at OGS to grow, innovate, and make a meaningful impact in public service.
