Thank you to MHLC volunteers John, George, and Ken, who joined MHLC staff and the new Summer Land Stewards, Eamon and Max, to help at the Bozen Kill Preserve. The crew replaced the aging roof, and the Summer Land Stewards also completed mowing and w**d whacking to get the trails in great shape for the holiday weekend. 🌳🥾

ART on the Rail Trail and miniMoCA are pleased to present these playful ceramic sculptures by artist Julie Branch.

Julie invites viewers to join a group of forest dwellers in this imagined gathering. The artist herself spends much time in the woods finding inspiration for her porcelain sculptural works.

On view through June at the miniMoCA gallery on the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail, corner of Adams and Hudson Streets in Delmar, NY.

Thank you to McSharry and Associates, the exclusive sponsor of miniMoCA! Learn more about the gallery and ART on the Rail Trail. Link in bio.

Join MHLC for a special National Trails Day volunteer workshop: Trail Building 101 at Winn Preserve on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Take a hike and learn the ins and outs of trail building with MHLC stewardship staff. We’ll discuss all the fundamental elements of trail design and development, the various structures involved, and the tools of the trade. The latter portion of the session will give participants the opportunity to put some of these concepts into practice as we continue some work on a new section of trail at the preserve. All tools and equipment will be provided.
