We fully expect the state budget to be adopted this week, delivering a record $1.28 billion in state highway funding to local governments. We also anticipate that the New York State Department of Transportation will release the individual highway program runs, allowing municipalities to fully launch the construction season.

This year’s $50 million increase in CHIPS funding, in addition to the final year of the state’s five-year highway capital program, brings annual local highway aid to $300 million above the final year of the state’s previous multiyear capital highway program - a 32.3% increase overall.
