Albany Office of Sustainability

Albany Office of Sustainability From energy to climate action to electric vehicles, sustainability is critical to Albany's future.

In 2005, the City of Albany pledged to protect the climate by helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and establish a sustainability agenda for the City. The Office of Sustainability was founded in September 2010 to drive this agenda forward.

Time to start Gardening and our residents can start this weekend!

The Urban Windowsill Garden Project aims to develop gardening skills and strengthen food security among residents in Albany, by creating home-based gardens. The project will supply participants with seeds, soil, and educational material, while encouraging the use of recycled household containers to promote sustainable practices. Gardening is a life skill that is especially useful amid climate change, which is affecting food quality and supply chains.

Join the workshop this Saturday, March 7th, 11:00am- 1:00pm, at 498 1st Street, Albany.
