The NYS Golden Park program is now available. If you are a New York State resident 62 or older, on Monday to Friday (except holidays), you can obtain free vehicle access to most state parks, boat launch sites and arboretums and fee reduction to state historic sites and state-operated golf courses. $25 million is now available for clean, high-performance building projects in New York State. This funding, administered by NYSERDA in partnership with Empire State Development and the New York Department of State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative, is also part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) initiative.

The Building Cleaner Communities Competition provides funding for design and construction projects to support regional economic development goals and advance clean energy and resiliency strategies. The projects will also demonstrate replicable pathways to modernize buildings and eliminate reliance on fossil fuels across the State. ⬇️

Empire State Development (ESD) yesterday announced a commitment of up to $20 million to bring reliable, high-quality internet access to New Yorkers residing in homeless shelters statewide. ESD’s ConnectALL Office will lead the initiative and provide $17 million for the initial installation in coordination with the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), with an additional $3 million of in-kind investment secured by the New York State Department of Public Service Commission. Funding will support broadband infrastructure installation in shelters across the state with ongoing service eligible for reimbursement as an essential service for shelter occupants.
