This morning at about 3am our crews completed the repair of the main break. If you are in the area of the break as a precaution please run your cold water for two or three minutes to ensure any sediment that may have gotten into your lines has been flushed away.

The Albany Water Department would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Mike Ruede for 30yrs of dedicated service to the City of . Mike started with us in 1996 as a repairmen and worked his way up to Foreman and then Operations Manager overseeing day to day operations with our on the ground crews. This same year that brought us the first flip phone by Motorola, Albums like Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill, movies like Independence Day, The Macarena and so much more. Thank you Mike for all you did for AWD, you left it better than you found it and we are forever grateful. Enjoy your retirement, well deserved.

Use cold water for drinking/cooking and baby formula. Hot water can pull more lead from plumbing.

Today one of our guards at the Basic Creek Reservoir found a tackle box and a fishing pole that was left behind. If this is yours or if you know who's it might be please call our security team @ 518-229-5728. There are some very specific items in the box itself that we would like for you to describe. If it's yours we will coordinate with you for retrieval.

We stated charging the main about an hour ago. For anyone in the area please run your cold water for a couple of minutes to ensure any sediment is flushed away.
