Proud to make some history with our partners at CDPHP in our 100th year of service to the community. 💚

Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped support Crossroads Center for Children and Catholic Charities Tri-County Services on 518 Day! It takes all of us coming together to make a difference across our region!

The race is what brings us together, but giving back is what makes it meaningful. 🫶 To cap off this year’s CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge, we presented nearly $50,000 to Crossroads Center for Children and Catholic Charities Tri-County Services.

A tremendous thank you to our partners at Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club and the United Way of the Greater Capital Region for helping us make history with our largest donation yet. And to the thousands of participants, volunteers, and sponsors who make this event possible, thank you for showing up for this community.

Affordable internet and reliable connectivity matter for working families especially in our rural communities. As Peter Gannon shared, "You need a reliable internet connection and access to devices to review health records, apply for a job, or file for benefits. Yet many families often lack the tools necessary to stay connected."

That's why United Way of the Greater Capital Region is investing $100,000 to expand digital access across Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Saratoga counties.

Through partnerships with local library systems and community organizations, residents will gain greater access to affordable devices, internet connectivity, and digital support.

Proud to partner with Capital District Regional Planning Commission, Upper Hudson Library System, Schenectady County Public Library, and the Southern Adirondack Public Library System for this important initiative.

Together, we're helping more people connect to the tools they need to learn, work, and thrive. 💻⌨📱

The team at KeyBank has been outstanding in their support of United Way. We want to thank every member of their team for their generosity across their branch locations. We are proud to call you a partner.

This year, KeyBank presented United Way with a generous gift of $35,078. These funds will help more children gain access to books and nutritious meals while providing hardworking families with greater opportunities to close the affordability gap.

Thank you, KeyBank, for your continued commitment to strengthening our community.

Back in February Teamsters Local 294 President Tom Quackenbush along with our President and CEO Peter Gannon issued a challenge to local unions to come together in support of hard-working families all across the Capital Region.

Their calls were answered.

This morning we were grateful to join them at their Labor Breakfast where United Way was presented with $24,760 donation raised through the Unions United Campaign by Teamsters 294 and Teamsters Cares.

Thank you to every member who contributed. Your generosity will help more local families thrive through access to vital resources in times of need.

A special thank you to our board member, Bonnie Torchia with Teamsters Local 294 whose advocacy and commitment to our community strengthened this partnership between organized labor and United Way.

I am a Weaver because…
Reverend Dustin Wright shares what motivates him to be a local Weaver and why community building matters.

Weavers are everyday people who bring people together, build connection, and remind us what is possible when we choose relationships over division.

Weavers build relationships through intentional activities that help people discover what they have in common and inspire them to work side by side.

Are you a Weaver? Do you know a local Weaver? Nominations open June 15.

A huge shoutout to the 120 volunteers who knocked it out of the park for VITA this year! âš¾

United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provided free tax preparation to thousands of local families, helping them save on filing fees and access valuable tax credits and refunds.

Today we celebrated our incredible volunteers. Mario Verna, VITA Volunteer at Columbia Opportunities, threw out the first pitch at the ValleyCats game. Volunteer of the Year Mark Gibbons, who volunteered at St. Luke's in Schenectady, was recognized for 24 years of service helping local families through VITA.

More than 7,000 tax returns were filed this season—all thanks to an all-star team of volunteers making a real difference across our community.

This is one of the most dedicated teams in the Capital Region working toward building a stronger community. This hardworking crew is in Pennsylvania this week for the United Way Northeast Region Conference, hosted by United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and co-chaired by our very own Peter Gannon.

It's been three days of learning, sharing ideas, and connecting with leaders from across the region. We have plenty of new insights and inspiration for the work ahead of us.

The calendar may have flipped to June, but the energy of 518 Day is carrying into a new month with new impact. Two Mondays ago, the community showed what's possible when we come together. This year's 518 Day highlighted the strength and generosity that define the Capital Region.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, supported local organizations, and helped create a day to remember. Watch the highlights, relive the best moments 📺
