The ALH Parent Advisory Board will hold it's April meeting, this Friday, April 20, 2011 at 5:30PM in the ALH Student Union. ALH's first year is rapidly drawing to a close as our young ladies prepare for the 2011 Regents exams. We need to begin planning for next year. Please be sure to attend so that your voice can be heard.

Friday, April 20, 2011 the ALH Dancing Divas and the Panther Dancers will perform at half time at the Basket Ball Legends Game to be held after school at ALH. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Come on out and support our girls!

ALH held it's first Def Jam Competition where several of our young ladies competed for prizes by defining words in a "spelling bee" type contest. Sabrina Jones won first place, O'Shauna Bowie won second place and Nicolette Loving won third place. It was a wonderful evening with food, music and "Def Jams." Next year's competition is sure to be a blast.

One of our Double-Dutch Teams won first place in the Compulsory, Speed and Trick event in the New York American Double-Dutch League’s 1st Annual Novice Championship. Great job ladies!

The young women of ALH did very well this past weekend at the New York State Future Problem Solvers 2010 - 2011 State Bowl winning several trophies and citations. The young women also came in first place in a few of the categories. Principal Jarvis-Cedeno made an appearance after earlier in the day supporting another group of ALH young women at a double dutch competition in the Bronx, more details to come.

On March 25, 2011, the ALH-PAB held its first evening event, March Madness, and it was a smashing success! A good time was had by all. The ALH-PAB would like to give a special shout-out to all the students, parents, administrators and community who participated, attended and made it happen! Thank you one and all.

ALH-PAB and the ALH family will present a celebratory event tentatively scheduled for March 25, 2011 at ALH to begin at 5:30PM. We are planning to have food, music and vendors. It will be a night that the whole family can enjoy.

ALH-PAB met Friday, February 11, 2011. At the meeting the following matters were discussed: The Purple Panther's win in their season finale against Emma Willard, The April Spring Gala, the Feb. 21 visit by the CSI Authorizer, the upcoming Open House events in March and the start of the Junior Tennis Program ($25 per student)
