🚨If you’re selling a budget focused on affordability, that budget absolutely must include an increased investment in public transit. Public transit by nature is affordable; by fully funding upstate systems, our elected officials can send the signal that they really care about the concerns of their constituents.

It’s why we’re calling on the Legislature and Governor to recognize the importance of funding upstate transit systems and include a 15% increase in State Transit Operating Assistance (STOA) for all upstate and downstate non-MTA transit systems in the final state budget.

🚨An increased investment in public transit is an investment in our environment and New York State’s battle against climate change. Mass transportation cuts down on emissions, takes cars off the road, and reduces wear and tear on our roads.

Public transit is the smart choice for so many New Yorkers; it’s the smart choice for the environment, and it’s a smart investment of taxpayer money.

We’re calling on the Legislature and Governor to recognize the importance of funding upstate transit systems and include a 15% increase in State Transit Operating Assistance (STOA) for all upstate and downstate non-MTA transit systems in the final state budget.

This Memorial Day, the New York Public Transit Association pauses to honor the men and women who gave everything in service to our nation.

The freedom to move to connect communities, reach opportunity, and come home is a gift made possible by their sacrifice. We carry that forward in every mile of track, every route served, every passenger we bring safely to their destination.

🚨The Legislature has an opportunity to change the relationship between upstate communities and public transportation. Let’s not let it pass us by.

A 15% increase in State Transit Operating Assistance (STOA) ensures continued reliable and affordable service, while offsetting rising costs, and allowing providers to expand better service to more New Yorkers.

We’re calling on our elected officials to do the right thing. Fully fund upstate transit.

Gas prices remain sky high – meanwhile, public transportation remains an affordable option for New Yorkers from Buffalo to Binghamton and beyond.

Public transit systems need support from state lawmakers to keep up with the demand.

The Legislature and Governor must include a 15% increase in State Transit Operating Assistance (STOA) for all upstate and downstate non-MTA transit systems in the final state budget. New York can’t afford not to.

In the face of rising gas prices and high auto insurance rates, more New Yorkers outside of the five boroughs are turning to public transportation to get them where they need to go.

That means now more than ever, we have to be realistic about where we are and where we need to get to ensure New Yorkers have access to reliable, affordable, and the highest quality public transportation. https://loom.ly/4BKf9RE

Upstate transit agencies seek 15% aid increase to sustain service, address costs, and ensure affordable mobility for riders without cars across Western New York communities.
