It’s time to grab your clubs and join us for a milestone celebration! The Fall Salty Sandbagger Golf Tournament is coming up on October 5 at Stonebridge Golf & Country Club, and we want YOU on the course!

For 50 years, the Salty Sandbagger has brought together local businesses, community leaders, military partners, and golf enthusiasts for a day of golf, networking, friendly competition, and fun. This year, we’re celebrating five decades of tradition—and it’s going to be one you don’t want to miss!

⛳ Individual player tickets are just $135 and include your Chamber golf hat!

Whether you’re bringing your usual foursome or signing up on your own, there’s still time to be part of the celebration.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the countless individuals whose courage and sacrifice shaped the days that followed.

We remember the victims, the families who continue to carry their loss, and the first responders, military members, and everyday Americans who answered the call to serve and protect others.

May we never forget the strength, unity, compassion, and resilience that emerged in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Interested in making a difference in your community?

The Albany Area Political Leadership Institute offers an opportunity for community-minded individuals to learn more about local government, civic engagement, and pathways to public service.

This non-partisan, three-session program is designed for individuals who are interested in becoming more involved in their community, whether through serving on an appointed board, pursuing elected office, or simply gaining a better understanding of how local government works.

Participants will explore the structure and responsibilities of local government, opportunities for community service, the fundamentals of running for office, and the qualities and leadership Albany needs from its future appointed and elected officials. The program also provides opportunities to build relationships and connect with fellow community leaders.

Because participation is limited, applicants will be selected through a competitive process by a designated selection committee. Those chosen will represent a variety of professional backgrounds, experiences, and areas of community involvement.

Applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m. on October 2, 2026.

🚍 Go See! Tour: Lee County Middle School West

This morning, the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and our members had the opportunity to visit Lee County Middle School West for our latest Go See! Tour!

The visit gave our members a firsthand look at the campus and an opportunity to learn more about the school, its students, faculty, and the important role it plays in preparing the next generation for success.

From seeing the school’s facilities to learning more about the programs, resources, and opportunities available to students, it was a great morning of connecting with education leaders and gaining a better understanding of the work happening within our local school system.

We are thankful for opportunities like Go See! that allow our Chamber members to get out into the community, learn more about local organizations, and build stronger connections throughout Southwest Georgia.

A special thank you to Lee County Middle School West for welcoming us this morning and sharing more about all that you do for your students and community!
