๐ธ Yesterday, I introduced a very kind, brave, and humble young man, Kellen McHale, on the Senate floor as we passed a resolution proclaiming May as Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Awareness Month in New York State.
Kellen is one of more than 1,600 New Yorkers who live with CF, a genetic disease that affects the lungs, digestive system, and other vital organs. Thanks to years of innovative research and funding, treatments that were unimaginable just a generation ago are now helping patients pursue their dreams.
Despite the challenges that CF presents, Kellen and the CF community continue to show extraordinary resilience, courage, and hope. Yesterday's resolution illustrates our commitment to continue funding cutting-edge research and treatment development that will change lives.
Thank you to Kellen and his wonderful parents for joining us in session yesterday for the passage of this resolution. Your story and advocacy continue to make a difference.
