Good afternoon,

Strong to severe storms will move through the area this afternoon and evening.

We currently have isolated thunderstorms developing across western KY into southern IN and southcentral KY. This evening we expect these storms to congeal into a line and push east through the area. These storms will have the potential to produce small hail and gusty to damaging winds. Additionally, areal flooding will be a concern through this evening into tomorrow as areas in southern IN could see localized swaths of 2- 4 inches of rain. A flood watch will be in effect across southern IN today from 3pm EDT to 2pm EDT tomorrow.

Good afternoon,

Over the next few hours, we'll start to see scattered showers and thunderstorms develop over western Kentucky which should move to the east and northeast this evening into tonight. A few of these storms could be strong to severe and will produce brief heavy rainfall.

The Storm Prediction Center has continued the Slight Risk (Level 2/5) for much of south central Kentucky, with a Marginal Risk (Level 1/5) for the rest of central Kentucky and most of southern Indiana. The main threats with storms will be damaging winds and large hail, and there is a very low (2%) risk for spin-up tornadoes.

The flooding potential is not as high tonight as last night; however, localized swaths of 1-2+ inches of rain will be possible which could cause a few areas of minor flooding. Portions of southern Indiana which received very heavy rainfall last night would be particularly susceptible to flooding.

Quieter and cooler weather is expected starting tomorrow and continuing through the upcoming weekend.
