I had the privilege of speaking at the Chicago City Council Committee on Immigrant and Refugee the Rights and representing the District Council Immigration Working Group alongside 9th District Councilor Erin Vogel and Commissioners Rubi Navarijo and Guzman.

It was powerful to put together our presentation and talk about all that many DCs have done over the last 3+ years to meet the moment. We have shown up for our communities and taken our responsibility seriously that was set out in the CCPSA ordinance many years ago.

Thank you 17th District community for putting your trust in me and allowing me to serve you!

Busy District Council day!

I had the privilege and pleasure of joining two wonderful events.

First was the public announcement by the Mayor and other city leaders about the CARE program expansion. Thanks so much for all of the District Councilors who have been relentless in pushing for this and working to educate the community on the benefits to the program!

Second was the graduation of our young people, including my friend Edwin, from the Avondale RJCC! We are so proud of you! The DCs and community members who are working for expansion of the courts are reinvigorated by your tenacity. You never gave up and we won't either with your support!

Had the opportunity to be in community with the 33rd Ward today giving out information as they gave out food and backpacks. Thanks to our CVI team from ALSO for supporting the event!

Please join us next Tuesday night for our monthly meeting where we will be getting your input on what you would like to see in the next Superintendent. Our positions were created to give the community a voice in how it is policed and it's now more important than ever for you to use that voice!

I had the privilege of participating in a Youth Town Hall with CCPSA Commissioner Angelique Guzman, other elected officials, their staff members and leaders of local community organizations. It was a great event where we got to hear from the youth and engage them in how they can help to create the world they want to see!

Thanks to State Representative Lindsey LaPointe, Senator Graciela Guzman, Cook County Commissioner Jessica Vasquez, and Alderwoman Ruth Cruz for allowing me to be a part of this!
