Stop by the library and check out what we have to offer! New best sellers, large print, audio books, magazines, newspapers, and much more.
And don’t forget that you can order on line and check out books from not only the Alanson Library, but through MeL (Michigan Electronic Library), Libbie, and Hoopla.
There is a children’s craft and story hour from 10:30 to noon on the second Friday of every month.
A book discussion group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10 am in the community room. This month’s book is “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah.
There is no need to sign up for either of these. Just show up and be welcomed!

FINALLY! After over a year of inaction, we are having a book sale!

FRIDAY, August 6, from 2pm to 6pm
SATURDAY, August 7, from 10am to 3pm.

Mark your calendars!

We need people to help set up Friday at 10 am, and to help tear down on Saturday, starting at 2:30. Both set up and tear down will take about 1.5 to 2 hours each. We’ll be hauling boxes of books, so strong backs are a help. 😃. The plus side is that you get to have first pick of the books! Some help is also needed during the sale itself.

PM Anne Billiard if you are able to help with set up, tear down, and/or during the sale.

If you can’t help, come and buy books! That’s the most important part. All sales are by donation.

Don't forget! The Alanson Riverfest is this coming weekend, and the Friends of the Library is having a book sale! Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 3pm.

Local author Lynn Fraze will be at the sale on Saturday and will sign her book, "Life in the Black Hole," a compilation of photos and stories about the wildlife inhabitants of this Alanson nature preserve. She is graciously donating a percentage of the sale of her books to the library.

Help is needed to set up the book sale on Friday, from 4:00 pm until 5-5:30. Also during the sale, and again on Sunday when we put things away.

We hope to see you not only helping, but buying books!

The annual Riverfest Book sale will be held on Saturday, August 10, from 10 am to 2 pm, and Sunday, August 11 from 1 pm to 3 pm.

We can use help setting up on Friday starting at 4 pm, and tearing down on Sunday at 3 pm. Help is also needed during the sale. Please contact Anne Billiard at [email protected] if you are able to help us out.

Don't forget to clear out your book shelves and donate books to the library for the sale. Books for donation may be dropped off at the library during regular open hours.
