First day of real debate, and the team was off to a solid beginning. , !

So I've been a little slow in posting this attempt at a photo - diary of the team's trip to the Barcelona International Model UN conference. We were just too busy while we were there, then I got sick. But better late than never.

The team represented China in 4 different committees: Human Rights, Drugs and Crime, Environment, and Security Council, dealing with issues such as child soldiers, air pollution, global money laundering, and the rise of right wing populism.

The conference began with team-building activities; Patrick Cleary didn't seem to enjoy them.

Adventure on the way to the Airport. The car broke down In one of the sketchier areas of Fountain. Several recent alumni offered their assistance! Go Adams State! We made it thanks to a good friend!

Off to a good start before we even left for Barcelona Model UN. Sean Erice was called a " top delegate by his committee chair. The topic Sean Erice submitted for debate at the conference was also chosen: The refugee crisis in Africa, the case of South Sudan. He received acknowledgement publicly for this several times at the conference.
